Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated QA tester to be responsible for designing and implementing test plans to improve the usability of the products in our new and exciting digital venture. In this role you will work closely with the engineering and product team to deliver high quality, perfectly-functioning software and mobile applications to customers. You will be responsible for reviewing and implementing systematic test plan and determining project scope and requirements. Success in this role will be demonstrated by providing quality work output, screening for errors, and refining usability throughout the software development and implementation process.
As part of this exciting new venture, you will work on challenging, thought-provoking work daily. You will work with a team of like-minded, driven individuals and be exposed to a wide variety of Senior Santam, Sanlam and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
● Review and analyse system specifications, test software, and check whether the product complies with requirements
● Design and execute pre-release and post-release test cases (manual or automated) using attention, deduction, and sometimes special software
● Systematically track and report testing performance to development teams
● Support the engineering team to creatively solve problems, ensure timely solutions & find ways to enhance performance
Qualifications
● Understands test metrics and how they are used for decision support
● Testing certification (ISTQB – Foundation certificate or ISAB)
Knowledge & Experience
● Minimum of 5 years testing experience
● Robotics Process Automation experience
● Previous experience in tools like JIRA, Xray, Zephyr or HP Quality Centre
● Experience in software testing methodologies (agile, waterfall, functional and non-functional), test planning, test cases development, execution of test cases
● Experience in developing test cases and test scenarios from use cases and/or requirements specifications
● Possesses good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance concepts across the Systems Development Lifecycle
● Some basic experience with XML
